Huron OPP are urging residents to lock your vehicles and keep your keys away from them when not in use.
In April the detachment issued a plea to residents to “Lock them Up,” but people are still not getting the message.
From June 1st to July 7th, OPP say 19 vehicles were stolen in the county, which averages to be about one every other day.
13 trucks, three cars two bikes and an ATV were all lifted, six from rural properties and the remaining 13 from urban areas.
Of these 19 vehicles, police say 16 of them were left unlocked or not secured in any fashion, with “nearly all of them,” having keys left in them.
OPP are asking the public to think twice before leaving your vehicle unlocked.
