Western University is now one of more than two dozen smoke-free post secondary institutes in Ontario. The entire campus is smoke free. No tobacco – cannabis or vaping.
The London Free Press reports the university administration says it knows enforcement will be a work in progress.
Matthew Mills – director of health, safety and wellness at Western tells the paper the university has recruited ambassadors to fan out across campus to raise awareness of the new rule.
Fanshawe College is a bit ahead of Western having adopted its campus smoke
free policy last fall. The administration tells the Free Press – there hasn’t
been much resistance. When a reminder is needed – a gentle nudge by
security seems to work most of the time.
