The OPP are reminding residents that calling 9-1-1 to complain about AMBER Alerts waking you up is a waste of time and resources which can be applied to those who need it.
This comes after another early morning alert was issued Thursday July 11 before later being cancelled as the children were located safely.
OPP Staff Sergeant Stacey Whaley says police will do anything to keep people safe, no matter what time it is.
He said it would be up to the government to make the decision as to if these callers get charged with improper use of 9-1-1. Whaley said this is how the system is and it works, and the only way to avoid these alerts is turning your phone off.
