Premier Doug Ford was in Lucan on Tuesday along with the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Infrastructure and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton.
The Premier announced a plan for better internet and cell phone service for rural Ontario, which would ensure that no community in the province is left behind.
According to the Premier, 12 percent of Ontario communities or over 200 thousand families don’t have access to fast reliable and affordable internet and cell service.
Premier Ford says the government is investing $315 million dollars to get shoves into the ground to improve broadband and cellular and it’s all part of the new Ontario Broadband and Cellular Action Plan.
Infrastructure Minister Laurie Scott says the plan is a first of its kind for the province.
She added that the plan will ensure better service to rural and small-town Ontario that don’t have the service or that’s underserved.
