Negotiations on a new collective agreement between Bruce Power and the union representing 1,200 employees will continue next week.
Both sides are working with a conciliator as they work on avoiding a labour disruption at the Bruce site.
Bruce Power’s Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Operational Services James Scongack tells myFM that he himself has been involved in the negotiations. He says as long as talks continue, he believes a deal can be reached.
Members of the Society of United Professionals Bruce Local voted in favour of strike action if no agreement is reached.
Workers would be in a legal strike position 17 days after the conciliator issues a no-board report.
