Negotiations are set to resume today (TUE) on a new collective bargaining agreement between Bruce Power and the Society of United Professionals.
Both sides have been working around the clock since June to hammer out a contract. Vice-President of the Bruce Local Mike Gade says some progress has been made over the last couple of weeks.
1,200 workers at the Bruce site voted in favour of a strike mandate and that could come once the conciliator issues a no-board report and the 17-day grace period has elapsed.
But Gade says as long as the two sides continue to negotiate at the table, he is optimistic that something can get done.
