If you are thinking of quitting smoking the start of the month is a popular time.The Huron County Health Unit is encouraging everyone who wants to quit smoking to sign up for the First Week Challenge Contest.
The contest is organized by the Canadian Cancer Society and asks people to stay smoke-free for the first seven days of September for a chance to win $500.
If the money isn’t incentive enough, health benefits from quitting smoking are huge, as those who stay smoke-free during one week are 9 times more likely to quit smoking according to the Canadian Cancer Society.
To participate, register before midnight on August 31st to be entered in the September challenge. Remain tobacco-free for 7 days to be entered into a draw to win $500.
