Municipalities in Bruce, Huron, Grey, and Perth counties were left out of the latest round of licences for a retail cannabis store. The Province recently held its second lottery where 42 more stores will be allowed to legally sell cannabis.
There were two awarded in London, and one each in Kitchener, Guelph, and Collingwood. Goderich Mayor John Grace for one is not surprised at the results and says their time will come.
Grace says there was one applicant from the area that did meet the requirements but was not selected in the lottery. Goderich was one of many communities that opted in to allow a legal retail cannabis store.
