A Huron East man is facing charges after he was involved in a near head-on crash.
Perth County OPP were notified about a collision on Perth Road 86 east of Road 124 near Dorking (east of Listowel) Friday afternoon around 3:30.
They found out that a sedan going west on 86 was attempting to pass a vehicle when it approached an oncoming pick up truck that was hauling a camper trailer in the eastbound lane.
The pick up swerved to avoid the sedan but the sedan ended up striking the trailer.
Investigators say the driver of the sedan then fled on foot with an apparent head injury.
He was apprehended later that evening after police received a tip from a concerned citizen that a man matching the description of the one at the scene of the crash tried to hitch a ride in Milverton.
The 33-year-old is being charged with possessing an identity document belonging to another person, possession of counterfeit money, violating a probation order, and breach of recognizance.
He was held for a bail hearing in London and police are still investigating the crash.
The driver of the pick up truck in the collision was not hurt.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
