The provincial government is moving forward on a cell phone ban in classrooms. Beginning November 4th, phones will not be allowed unless teacher let students use them for educational purposes.
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton says they listened to the people when it comes to having this move ahead.
This was first announced earlier this year by Minister of Education Stephen Lecce’s predecessor, Lisa Thompson.
McNaughton says they consulted with over 72,000 parents and teachers and 97% of them were in favour of this ban, which exempts special needs students or those who need a phone for medical reasons.
