2 local break and enters has Huron County OPP Investigating. Police say two homes about a kilometer apart in South Huron were broken into between noon and 5PM on September 5th.
Investigators believe the first incident happened at a residence on Kirkton Road, where entry was gained through a basement door. Once inside the suspects ransacked the home and stole various items including jewelry, credit cards, a crossbow, and three firearms.
The stolen firearms include a Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun, a Remington .300 ultra-mag bolt action rifle, and a .300 “Army Addition” bolt action rifle.
A white 2007 Ford E-250 company van was also stolen.
Police say the thieves then drove to a residence on Grand Bend Line, and forced entry into the home. The residence was ransacked and numerous items were stolen.
A rough estimate of the goods stolen is in excess of $25 thousand dollars. Anyone with any information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
