The Roaring Cat Retreat near Grand Bend had a busy summer of open houses. Owners Mark and Tammy Drysdale decided to hold weekend open houses for locals and tourists alike to show them what they do, and how well the lions and tigers are cared for, as well as secured from the public.
Earlier this year there was lots of public opposition to the opening of the business, but Tammy told myFM she has seen in lots of cases a shift in public opinion.
Drysdale said they had about 10,000-15,000 people come through in the summer to check out their space.
As for next steps Drysdale said their legal challenges with Lambton Shores continue into the fall and it’s been frustrating, but they hope to be open for business soon enough.
myFM reached out to Lambton Shores mayor Bill Weber who declined to comment citing the ongoing legal proceedings.
Open Houses continue every weekend from 10 to 4 at the retreat located at 9827 Parkview Crescent Grand Bend.
