The Ontario government has allocated over $3 million to Western University and Fanshawe College to help aid over a dozen research projects. Specifically, Western will receive just about $2.2 million spread across 12 projects while Fanshawe is receiving just under $1 million for an Applied Agri-food Innovation Accelerator for Southwestern Ontario.
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton says these investments gives ratepayers their money back in spades.
McNaughton said there’s amazing research happening at the campus which aims to help improve the health of the Great Lakes and drinking water in the province among much more.
In total, 174 research projects province-wide are receiving a total of $41 million in funding through three separate funding programs.
