The cost of living is climbing, so too is the living wage for Perth and Huron Counties.
Perth-Huron United Way Executive Director Ryan Erb says poverty is something they’ve shined the light on for a number of years and it’s a very tough thing for people to overcome.
Recently the United Way announced living wage for the region is $17.55. Erb is encouraged that almost 20 businesses have been certified as local living wage employers, saying there’s countless benefits to offering your employees more than minimum wage and they show it through their work.
