Just because an animal has fur, doesn’t mean it can survive outside in the winter on it’s own. Humane Society spokesperson, Cathie Hosken, says that even a little bit of help goes a long way.
She explains how you can provide support for stray animals.
Hosken adds that frostbite is one of their biggest concerns during the winter but the cold weather isn’t the only danger animals can face.
She says that freezing rain, deep snow and ice can all hurt animals, as well as the dangers of breaking through shallow ice.
Hosken asks that if you see an animal in immediate distress, please contact the proper authorities.
