Stratford police joined numerous other police organizations to take down a major illegal gaming enterprise with links to members of known organized crime members.
Project Hobart began in January 2018 and targeted an illegal gaming website controlled by alleged members of the outlaw motorcycle gang the Hell’s Angels.
Police believe the illegal websites brought in over $131 million and the investigation has linked the operators to the Figliomeni Crime Family.
Police executed a search warrant the second week of December and police charged 28 people with 228 offenses.
Officers also seized or restrained seven residences and two vacation properties worth over $8 million, accounts with more than $1.2 million, 18 vehicles, more than $1.7 million in cash, high-end jewelry, 21 firearms, two conducted energy weapons, and several ballistic vests.
