Normally a low unemployment rate would be seen as good news. Not in the eyes of the Four County Labour Market Planning Board.
The jobless rate in the Stratford-to-Bruce-Peninsula region was at 2.4 percent for the month of November.
Executive Director Gemma Mendez-Smith says while there are fewer people looking for work, the number of openings continue to rise.
There were a thousand jobs that were eliminated in November but Mendez-Smith says that was mostly due to seasonal employment particularly in the hospitality sector.
She says some businesses had to close down shifts because they didn’t have enough people to fill the vacancies.
