The OPP are reminding the public that drivers need to pay attention and stop for school buses.
Police point out that it was a very dangerous act that could have fatal consequences if a child is crossing the roadway.
They point out that drivers approaching a stopped school bus from the front with its overhead red signal-lights flashing need to stop in front of the school bus and not pass until the signals are turned off and the bus moves.
If convicted the driver or owner of the vehicles can be fined between $400 and $2000 for a first offence with the possibility of imprisonment for subsequent offences.
