An influenza outbreak on the Medicine Unit of the Stratford General Hospital has been declared by the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance.
On Monday afternoon (10), three patients had tested positive for influenza.
In a news release, infection control practitioner Larry Morrel said they’re working closely with HPPH and have closed off the unit to admissions.
They’ve also restricted visitors to two per patient, while tacking on limitations on staffing.
People visiting a patient on the unit are asked to wash their hands frequently. Any visitors not feeling well are asked to refrain from visiting the hospital until they are feeling better.
