A Grade 7 student at South Huron District High School is learning how the Ontario government works.
Dashwood resident, Abbey Ramsay-Brown, is in Queens Park serving as the Legislative Page.
The Legislative Page program is open to grade 7 and 8 students who have an interest in current affairs and have obtained an academic average of 80% of higher.
Ramsay-Brown says as Page she will serve as a messenger on the floor of the Legislative Chamber, meeting with key parliamentary figures and learning about the Ontario government.
A typical day starts at 8:00 am and includes morning debates, delivering messages and water for MPPs, classes in math, the legislative process and more.
Ramsay-Brown started the new role this week (Feb. 18th) which will continue until March 12th.
