There could soon be new condominiums in downtown Goderich.
Developers of a proposed six-storey, 70-unit building on Hamilton Street recently received approval from Council for a zoning amendment.
Mayor John Grace says this development will be a “game-changer” as it will attract people to the downtown and help keep local businesses open.
There was some issue regarding the number of available parking spaces but Grace says the marketplace will eventually dictate that.
He says the developers will still need to go through the Town’s heritage committee to make sure the building conforms to the heritage look of the downtown.
