The weather is warmer and that means every day we inch closer to the Spirit of Community Celebration night, hosted by United Way Perth-Huron every year to close out their fundraising campaign.
The lofty goal of $1.633 million this year is 11 times higher than the last campaign, but as of today they need to raise about 6% more to hit it.
The funding adresses five local unignorable issues: Mental health, homelessness, domestic violence, poverty, and isolation.
Campaign co-chair Martin Ritsma says mental health specifically is something that truly lacks resources.
The Spirit of the Community night goes March 26th beginning at 6:30 at Best Western Plus Arden Park Hotel in Stratford. It’s a night to thank donors but also hear inspirational stories from those who’ve used UW services and programs.
Reach out to United Way Perth-Huron for tickets.
