The Township of Lucan-Biddulph are following suit with other tier-three governments in closing up shop amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson says their owned facilities will be closed meaning any programs and events scheduled to be held in places like the community centre are no more.
Burghardt-Jesson says please call ahead if you plan a visit to Town Hall, and through that you may be able to avoid visiting all together. She encourages everyone to sign up for e-billing and visit the Township website for information.
At a time like this the mayor says we have to place our trust in leaders, such as the Premier, Prime Minister, and public health officials and that’s where we should take direction.
She feels once COVID-19 has blown over there’s going to be lots of reflection on how this was dealt with and legislation is a possibility. She feels in some aspects the country didn’t learn from the SARS pandemic based on how Canada has responded to the novel coronavirus.
