Even during a pandemic, police services across Ontario continue to serve the communities they patrol.
OPP Constable Kevin Martin tells myFM that they are in constant communication with the Ministry of Health to ensure that they are up-to-date on their organizational response.
He wants everyone to know that police are investigating crime, nabbing impaired drivers, and helping locate missing people even as the COVID-19 outbreak grows.
Martin says police are equipped with latex gloves and hand sanitizer as a measure to not only protect the front-line officer but also the people they interact with.
He says people are encouraged to use the OPP self-reporting tool to report minor crimes as a way to further prevent any potential spread of the virus.
