The County of Lambton and the Municipality of Lambton Shores have declared a state of emergency.
The reasons behind the declarations include: raising public awareness in regards to COVID-19, protect volunteers that may be called on to assist, preserve the rights for future compensation if available, and to ensure a quick response to other unforeseen events if they arise.
The County also has decided to move to a required services model and restrict public access to the Counties building.
This measure means that only some staff will be physically present at the Administration Building while others will be working off-site.
The public is asked to call ahead before visiting any Lambton County facility.
County Council has also canceled their April 1srt meeting, while the status of the April 15th meeting will be reviewed closer to the date.
A list of County facility closures and program/meeting cancellations can be found online at lambtononline.ca/covid-19.
