Ontario’s Chief and Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health provided a COVID-19 update.
Associate Chief, Dr. Barbara Yaffe said as of yesterday there were 377 cases in the province, and one new death.
The person who died has been identified as a man in his 70s who had close contact with someone with COVID-19.
Over 7000 people are being investigated and there have been 58 new cases confirmed today.
Over 50% of people have travelled outside of Canada with 30% coming in from the US.
The provinces Chief Medical Officer, Dr. David Williams said that this is an important time for COVID-19.
He said said that the death toll continue to rise in Italy despite all the precautions they are taking.
He stressed that social distancing and hand washing continue to be very important aspects to remember.
Dr. Williams said everyone should minimize social contact with other except for essential services like groceries.
