Prime Minster Justin Trudeau continued his recent trend of daily news conferences on Saturday.
Trudeau talked about how the Northwest Territories are closing their boarders to all non-essential travel.
It was announced that the first out of country flight bringing Canadians home is coming from Morocco today, but Trudeau wouldn’t rule out flights coming in from other countries.
He said due to COVID-19 many countries are closing airspace, which makes logistics a bit of a challenge.
The Prime Minster reiterated that all travellers coming home will have to be self isolated for 14 days, but he also said anyone experiencing symptoms will not be allowed to fly home in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
It was also announced that Canadians will have to pay a reasonable amount to get home, but did mention that the Federal government will pay some of the costs, but specifics were not revealed.
More tests are being done each day, but to date over 1000 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Canada.
