Huron County has joined other area Counties in issuing a State of Emergency due to COVID-19.
As per COVID-19 protocols all County of Huron offices remain closed to the public, but core service delivery will continue.
Warden Jim Ginn made the announcement at 4 PM on Tuesday.
He said in a release “This decision was not made lightly. “We are taking the current COVID-19 situation very seriously and implementing every reasonable precautionary measure we can to support residents and staff. This action will enable the County to do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and take further steps to ease the burden on our health care sector.”
The State of Emergency was declared to: allow the County to act on measures that falls under its authority and considered necessary to preserve the health, safety and welfare of residents, raise public awareness around COVID-19, protect volunteers that nay be called on to assist, preserve the rights of the County for future compensation should it become available and ensure the organization can quickly respond to any other unforeseen events.
