Three new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by Huron Perth Public Health.
The cases include a South Huron man in his 60s who went to the South Huron Hospital and has since been sent to London Health Sciences Centre, but officials say he has no travel history or known contact with positive cases.
Another case is a woman from St.Mary’s in her late 40s who’s a healthcare worker who is now in self isolation
The last case is a Stratford man in his 60s who is in self isolation. He had close contact with two confirmed cases in London.
Dr. Miriam Klassen said in a statement “ “We were not surprised to receive these three new cases in Huron Perth.“The new cases confirm that we are now seeing local spread in our area, which is a similar pattern to what has been showing up across Ontario.
The new cases are on top of two already confirmed cases, with one person still in self isolation and the other in critical condition.
