A South Huron man in his 60s tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
Following the announcement Mayor George Finch released a statement that said
“We were expecting this, which is why we have put measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
I’m asking everyone to remain calm and continue to do your part by:
- Staying at home
- Self-isolating when you are unwell or returning from travels
- When you go out for essentials, maintain a physical distance of 2m between others
- Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently
The newest case brings the total number of cases to 5 in Huron and Perth Counties.
According to Huron Perth Public Health, the man was not in contact with any known cases, and had not traveled recently.
