The cottage season doesn’t usually start until the May long weekend, but some people are considering social distancing by heading to their summer properties in rural Ontario.
Huron County is discouraging all non-essential travel during the COVID-19 outbreak.
But for those who do decide to travel they need to be aware that grocery stores and local hospitals may be experiencing some strains due to the outbreak.
The Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association is asking anyone who does go to summer properties to do a few things.
Bring several weeks worth of provisions to minimize stops along the way, consider delivery or save pick up for any items, continue physical distancing and have an exit plan in case people get sick.
