Even during the COVID-19 pandemic police remain committed to keeping the public safe.
Over the weekend (April 11) suspects in a stolen pickup lead police on a wild chase that ended just outside of Lucan.
Middlesex OPP got an assist call from Huron County OPP in regards to a stolen pickup that was traveling on Highway 21 towards Middlesex County.
Officers saw the truck traveling through Lucan at speeds estimated almost 3 times over the posted speed limit, and because of this officers did not engage due to public safety concerns.
The stolen vehicle was later seen on Ilderton Road where it failed to stop for police and fled to the Hyde Park Road area, where officers deflated two tires with a spike belt.
The suspects didn’t stop fleeing into an open field before coming to a stop in the mud and getting arrested.
A 26 year old woman from London and a 27 year old man from Thames Centre are facing multiple charges including dangerous operation, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime and others.
