A few bad apples could spoil the bunch and the Exeter Golf Course is trying to keep that from happening.
They’ve been snuffing out some golfers attempts to go against not only their own COVID-19 regulations, but Ontario’s as well.
General Manager Rochelle Helmer says they’ve had cases of two groups of four booking back to back tee times, with the first group getting a few holes in before waiting for the second set to catch up, then they golf together as eight.
It’s problematic for a number of reasons, including Ontario’s gathering limit remains at five.
Helmer says in the couple of instances this has happened, they’ve acted immediately, and they’re discussing how to dispel this in the future.
Most people are following the guidelines and causing no issues, Helmer noted.
The golf course has pumped up sanitizing efforts, and limiting one person per golf cart, as well as requesting golfers to wait by their car until five minutes before their scheduled tee time, plus much more.
