The provincial government is extending the the Infectious Disease Emergency Leave to protect employees from permanent terminations after 13 weeks of layoffs.
Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development Monte McNaughton says this will be backdated.
McNaughton says roughly 1.2-million people lost their jobs in Ontario in March and April.
