There is an open air fire ban in all of Perth County including Stratford and St. Marys.
The reason for the ban is extreme dryness of area vegetation.
Open air fires are defined as fires outside of a building including campfires, bonfires, and burn barrels.
Recreational campfires are still allowed in Stratford and St. Marys.
Campfires for the purpose of cooking are allowed in West Perth, Perth East and Perth South from noon until midnight.
A total burn ban is in place for North Perth which means no fires are permitted.
The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
