Huron Perth Public Health is reminding everyone of a mask mandate which takes effect on Friday (July 17th).
Employers are reminded to implement a policy for mask or face coverings for employees and the expectation that patrons will also wear a mask or face covering.
A face covering is defined as a medical or non-medical mask, or something that covers the mouth and nose like a bandana, scarf or cloth.
HPPH’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen say the policy is being enacted and enforced in good faith.
Business owners are expected to post signage and train employees on face covering protocols.
HPPH does say that there are exemptions for people who for whatever reason cannot wear a mask, and businesses are not required to turn customers away or ask for proof of an exemption.
