The edge of Bayfield has been flooded with sunflowers as a testament to a local boy, his family, and the community.
Jamie Rombouts is the mother of Max Rombouts, the face of Miracle Max’s Minions.
Max passed away from leukemia at the age of two, and shortly after a neighbour, Brian Schoonjans, planted a field of sunflowers in the boy from Forest’s memory.
It has since evolved, as people can donate to one of four sunflower fields from Forest to Bayfield in the region and in exchange take pictures with them, and pick some to take home.
Jamie says seeing these photos brings lots of emotions to her and her husband Kevin.
The donations go to organizations who helped the Rombouts during Max’s fight. ChildCan, the Ronald McDonald house, and the TlC foundation to name a few.
