A 29 year old from Bluewater is facing charges after allegedly driving drunk and then assaulting a police officer.
On July 16 around 10 PM, officers saw a pickup exit a restaurant on Main Street South in Exeter in an erratic fashion.
The driver allegedly squealed the tires and took off at a high rate of speed heading southbound.
Police conducted a traffic stop, and a roadside test was given which registered a fail.
While police were attempting to arrest the suspect they allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted an officer.
When the suspect was finally arrested they were taken to a detachment where two breath samples registered over the legal limit.
Devon Taylor is facing impaired driving, resisting arrest, stunt driving and assault of a peace officer charges.
