Great news for the South Huron community.
The Municipality announced that the Dashwood Community Centre, Crediton Community Centre, and the Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre are now open.
Additional safety measures will be in place including, no use of the kitchen, face masks are mandatory inside, a maximum of 50 people inside the facility, physical distancing is required.
Renters will have to fill out a COVID-19 Safety Plan that is approved by staff prior to the rental, and combining the inside 50 person gathering limit and the 100 person outside limit is prohibited.
The Municipality also has announced that based on feedback from partners, ice is returning to the South Huron Recreation Centre by August 31st.
The Rec Centre will also see new guidelines including a maximum capacity of 50 which includes participants and spectators, and even if the facility is being used by multiple groups, all visitors must wear a face mask when not participating in physical activities.
There will also be specific traffic movements that must be followed for example entering and exiting the building, washrooms will be open, but the use of dressing rooms at this time is unknown.
The Municipality said in a release that there are currently many unknowns about returning to play for user groups, but staff will be increasing cleaning and signage will be in place.
Staff is also continuing to work to provide a safe return for further programing throughout South Huron, while still following guidance from the Province and Huron Perth Public Health.
