Lambton Shores recently mandated masks to be worn inside public spaces.
Mayor Bill Weber says the idea was for a bulk of people to voluntarily wear masks prior to making it mandatory, which pushed a vote on the matter until mid-summer.
The by-law passed 7-2 in favour, with Councilor Jeff Wilcox and Deputy Mayor Doug Cook as the opposers.
Weber says he has his own concerns about the by-law but they surround how people will respond to it.
Weber says ideally the province would have mandated a mask by-law province wide instead of having each municipality make their determination.
