Lambton Shores council recently voted in favour of passing a mandatory mask by-law which requires them to be worn at indoor public spaces.
It was not a unanimous vote, as both Deputy Mayor Doug Cook and councilor Jeff Wilcox voted against the motion, which passed 7-2.
Cook says he’ll fully support the decision despite having his concerns around the by-law.
Cook says it’s his opinion that the by-law will be onerous” for business owners to enforce the mandate on customers coming into stores, and the by-law is “very vague,” pointing to scarves and bandanas being considered as proper face covering.
