25 years is a long time.
On September 6th, it will be the 25th anniversary of the shooting death of Dudley George.
Anthony “Dudley” George along with other members of the Stony Point First Nation protesting a land dispute.
The OPP conducted a night time raid on Camp Ipperwash, George who was an unarmed protester was shot by an OPP sniper at Ipperwash Beach.
George would later die on September 7th, and at the time he was the only First Nations person killed by police in a Canadian land dispute in the 20th century.
