The provincial government is seeking 98 new health and safety inspectors as COVID-19 has created the need for an increased volume of inspections.
Labour Minister and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton says there’s a two-pronged approach as to how the inspectors will ensure workplace safety.
Recruitment will begin in October and McNaughton says they’ll be trained and joining the other 409 inspectors in the field by January 1st.
