Earlier this week, Environment minister Jeff Yurek announced improvements to the province’s blue box program. These include increasing the items accepted in the program like paper and plastic cups, foil, stir sticks, straws cutlery and paper plates.
In addition, blue box services are to be expanded to smaller rural and remote communities along with apartment buildings, long-term care homes, schools and municipal parks by 2026.
