Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Watch for the area.
The agency says that “conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes.”
They say there’s potential for tornadoes late this afternoon or early evening while the thunderstorms develop.
Environment Canada says you should be prepared for severe weather and take cover if it approaches.
The Tornado Watch is in effect for the following areas.
- Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County
- Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County
- Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County
- Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County
