Middlesex County will receive a little over $432,000 for the 2021 Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.
Warden Cathy Burghardt-Jesson shares similar sentiments with fellow area politicians in that the decreases each year to the fund puts the onus on them to find cuts – or raise taxes.
Last year the county received almost $509,000, and they had to increase the tax levy for the first time in years. Burghardt-Jesson the goal is to have no increase, but with decreased funding support and a higher cost of living, it’s becoming less feasible.
