As of midnight on Sunday, Huron Perth Public Health issued a Class Order under Section 22 in an effort to combat COVID-19.
This order is a legal measure that authorizes the health unit to enforce people to comply with public health instructions.
During a rare Sunday new conference Medical Officer of Health Doctor Miriam Klassen said that some of the pushback have been due to misinformation.
The key focus of the order is to ensure that people who have been told to self-isolate or quarantine by public health or a health care provider must do so or face a possible fine.
The order applies to all residents in Huron and Perth Counties.
