Huron Perth Public Health reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
This brings the total number of active cases in the region to 71.
During a media conference, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen says that the region does meet some criteria for the red zone, but added that some orange or even yellow criteria in other areas are still being met.
North Perth led the way with 7 cases, followed by Perth East at 4, Howick at 3, and Morris Turnberry, Perth South, West Perth and South Huron each getting 1 case.
1 cases was also reassigned to another health unit.
In terms of changing region colours that will be up to the Province.
