The province has issued a stay-at-home order requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes or for essential work effective Thursday.
Premier Doug Ford made the announcement earlier today.
I-C-U occupancy by COVID-19 patients is now over 400 beds and is projected to be as high as one-thousand beds by early February which has the potential to overwhelm Ontario’s hospitals.
New restrictions and health guidelines to fight the spread of COVID-19 are being introduced in Ontario.
Premier Doug Ford made the announced earlier this afternoon.
Among the new health guidelines, all non-essential retail stores must open no earlier than 7 a.m. and close no later than 8 p.m., and outdoor organized social gatherings are further restricted to a limit of five people with limited exceptions.
Ford says enforcement is going to be a priority for all provincial offences officers.
The Stay at Home Order comes into effect on Thursday (jan14) of this week.
