The UK variant of COVID-19 has hit the area.
On Saturday the Middlesex London Health Unit announced that the Public Health Ontario Laboratory identified a UK variant of COVID-19 in a previously diagnosed case.
The Health Unit said in a statement that the person who was infected was a person in their 80s with no history of travel and they are no longer infected.
